How does a wedding singer and DJ work? And, what are the benefits?
It’s a fair question and it’s one I get asked a lot by potential customers, so I thought I’d put a blog post together for anyone wanting to know more about my services.
I think the main benefit of hiring a joint acoustic wedding singer and DJ is that you only have to get your vibe and tastes across to one supplier. It makes the service more personal in both areas and saves you A LOT of emails. And, if there’s one thing you need less of while wedding planning, it’s emails!
There are a many other benefits whizzing around my head as I’m typing! I’m going to outline a few during this post and hopefully answer a few questions as I go. Bare with me!

Less talking! Less admin!
This one is simple – one supplier = one set of emails and calls. You can get your whole day’s music across to one person in one chat and a few emails. You can’t beat that!
It will save you money!
Having a separate DJ, singer for the day, entertainment for the evening, etc…. it mounts up! Hiring one supplier keeps costs down. You can often get discounts for booking more than one section of the day too!
A more personal service!
A personalised singer and DJ will have much more scope to tailor everything to your needs and the needs of your guests. When I’ve sang for people all day, it’s a no brainer for me to know what they want to hear at night!
Your wedding music, your way….
A venue DJ will often have zero contact with you before the day. They’re usually issued from an agency and have been told what your first dance will be….. that’s it! A personally hired singer and DJ will…

As a wedding singer and guitarist who is also a DJ, when I’m get to know you as a couple through your musical choices, I’m also finding out what will suit you when I DJ in the evening.
It’s a level of interaction and personal knowledge that a standalone DJ can’t hope to achieve.
As we plan your day’s music, I’m often learning what songs are special to you and why. What bands or singers mean something to you as a couple – or even the ones you both hate. Where you match up on your tastes and where you differ. There are many little bits of info that I will learn about you that an average DJ will never feel the need to know. But, these bits of information will help me tailor the evening’s music for you in a way that is both person to you and entertaining to your guests.
