“Matt played our wedding at the end of November and was amazing! We only gave him 24 hours notice when we asked him to play and he immediately made a very stressful “day before the wedding” much calmer! Matt couldn’t have been any more accommodating, making sure the whole evening was tailored to us. He even made us a fab highlights video which is just great to look back on. We would thoroughly recommend!! Xx” – Julie Thompson – The Castlefield Rooms, Manchester – 25/11/2017
I was hired at the very last minute by Julie and Alex after their prearranged Manchester wedding singer and DJ had to cancel on them at short notice! They were understandably quite stressed! Enter ‘Matthew Stephens – Acoustic Wedding Singer and DJ!‘ I swooped in like a superhero and saved the day!
After a phone call I was able to put their minds firmly at rest – I already knew their chosen first dance (Use Somebody by Kings Of Leon), so that was a big tick that helped to relax them. Our musical tastes were very inline too, so I knew a lot of their chosen music for the live sets later on.
They had hired me to help provide the evening wedding entertainment and I’m pretty sure I can say the evening was a great success! We had some beautiful speeches early on, some great wedding music provided by the Northern String Quartet, some acoustic background music while people chatted after their wedding breakfast by me and then we went into the communal first dance that Alex and Julie had requested. After some corralling I was able to get everyone onto the dance floor to enjoy the first dance with the newlyweds and everyone had a nice slow dance with the bride and groom. (See my highlights video beneath)
To finish we had some live party sets and a very bouncing disco set – a real knees up! The video will explain it all better than I can so please feel free to watch the wedding music highlights video below to see the party in full swing!
